It's so much fun "zapping" the weeds. The only down-side is you have to wait a day or two to see if they're really dead. (And watch that you don't catch any posts on fire.)But it beats using chemicals.

I used the Outdoor Torch Kit to melt old eyeglasses into silicate in Iran. That country recycles everything so while I traveled, I got that job to make some money so I could go on traveling. It uses a lot of BTU fuel. It has easy handling. Unfortunately I was using this near an exhaust pipe that eschewed methane gas from a nearby sewer plant and I was nearly blown to pieces.

Torch works fairly well for removing dead weeds and grass in small areas. Found it somewhat difficult to keep it lit. Has a sparker in the gas tube which helps, but for some reason, it stops burning frequentlyOutdoor Torch Kit - 20,000 BTU

Great device for getting rid of weeds in between the cracks in our brick walk. Needs to be used with care, however!

Effective weed burning for my purposes, more convenient than previous versions which required a match to light. Mine arrived with long pipe slightly bent, probably in storage, not shipping. Working is unaffected.
