I hung this in my urban backyard in San Francisco. I had occassionally seen a hummingbird or two before. Within days, they found this feeder. Within weeks, I had multiple regular visitors. It really attracts them, and it is a pleasure to watch them.
This little feeder is well constructed and easy to clean and fill. I recommond it highly.

If you like to observe hummingbirds...and want a feeder that is easy to clean and attractive...this is the one to get. I have bought many over the years...many very colorful, blown glass, etc....but usually leaked and were hard to clean. My prettiest feeder was ignored by the hummingbirds. I bought this feeder to avoid the dripping that all the jar type feeders I've used have been afflicted with. This one can't drip unless it's tipped so problem solved. The little moat is easy to fill if ants are an issue. The thing I like best though after having used it for awhile is the thoroughness with which it can be cleaned. There are no nooks and crannies for bacterial buildup. My Hummer's took to it immediately and expressed no skepticism. Not to me anyway.

This item benefits from intelligent design. The hook screws into a brass nut imbedded in the base, so that should never be a problem. The top, or red portion, snaps of for easy cleaning. The top also shades the solution,slowing the break down. The ant moat works well. If you are going to feed hummers,be advised that the solution needs to be changed every two days in 90 degree heat and every four days in the 80s. I have purchased at least 25 hummingbird feeders this year(some from Amazon). Until I bought two of these to try out I was never satisfied.
I either had drips or they leaked or they were hard to clean. Believe me I don't think there is one type feeder that I haven't tried.
This is the last feeder I have tried and it is absolutely the best. I have put all the others away, and as of today I will have purchased 14 of these!
