Editorial Review:
Amazon.com Product Description: Calculate the average rainfall during a single shower or over a day-, week-, or month-long period with the Timex TX7003 rain gauge. Measuring 12.25 inches tall and made of transparent plastic, the gauge lets you measure up to 6 inches of rain, making it ideal for amateur meteorologists, farmers, gardeners, and a host of other users. At the same time, its bold numerals and magnified dial--which is imprinted with UV-protected fade-resistant ink--are easy to read from a distance. Designed to stick in the ground or mount on any fence post, the rain gauge is backed by a two-year warranty.

We like this rain guage very much. It is easy to install and easy to read. It is fun to keep our own numbers and see how much they do not match up to what is reported as the rain fall for our area.

You can put this rain guage in the ground or attach it to a post or fence. We found the price right...should it fail, it would be easy to replace. We're happy with it!

Nice rain gauge. Have not had a chance to see it in action just yet. Yes, it's plastic so time will tell about durability and whether it will get cloudy. But I looked around for a rain gauge and in So Cal they're not so easy to come by. For a paltry $3 this darn fits the bill. Shipping would cost more than the item if it weren't for Amazon Prime.

My prior rain gauges all became brittle over time and failed. Usually witin a year. Like the easy too read gauge on this one. Too new to evaluate durability.

Love it, inexpensive and functional. A step above anything I could find in local stores. Of course, for the price, it is plastic. I'd like to see this design in the $15.00 range made of metal and pyrex that would be more appropriate for gift-giving. Though I did stuff a few stockings with these.
