I was a bit shocked to see vents on top of the 7554 cover. Seem like a stupid idea. I called Weber and their answer was, "water will not harm the grill". Probably true but it does make a mess. Not being able to find a good solution aside from covering the cover with another cover which is also a stupid idea,I covered the vents. Duct tape came first but it didn't work. The side straps make this a perfect, secure fit for my grill. I don't think Weber would overlook the venting question, so if they designed it this way, that's the way it should be. The only parts that would appear to be vulnerable would be the rotisserie motor, and Weber recommends removing the motor when not in use, anyway. Otherwise, the fit and finish of the grill should prevent any water penetration to parts subject to corrosion and the vents should prevent moisture build-up or internal condensation, ... Read More

Cover is good, full size and completely covers the grill to protect it from the weather. However why they would put mesh openings right over the ends of the grill is a dumb design flaw. It leaves the side shelves of the grill completely open to rain.

I've had this grill for about a month and a half now and have used it quite a bit. Everything works like it should and I'm very happy with it. Of course, I've had to adjust the way I cook things. This grill's interior temperature gets very hot (550+F without searer, 700+ F with searer) using high on the controls; so I've learned to turn things down while cooking. Good design. Fits grill well. We have had very high winds lately and no problems at all.
