Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Out of Box Failure
Alarm for timer and temperature failed to function right out of the box. I called the importer (Maverick) and they wanted me to mail everything back to them at my cost for an evaluation. I'm just going to count this buying decision as a total loss because I don't want to gamble the additional shipping cost on another out of box failure.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Works Really Well for Smokers
This dual probe is very nice and works well.

I like to max out what I put in the smoker, which often means cooking different meats and poultry. Having the two probes makes the whole operation a no-brainer. Operating this unit does require a slight learning curve. For instance, you have to turn on the probe FIRST, or the base will not connect with it. Not a big deal, but does require a cursory glance at the directions.

This unit is much better suited for slow cooking meats in your smoker. If you're looking for a grilling thermometer (burgers, steaks, chicken breasts, etc.) - keep it simple and go with a really high quality instant read model.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - You get what you pay for?
I purchased this thermometer as a replacement for another one we had that broke. This one is worse than the last one. The remote sensor never did work and now that we've had it for a couple years, it won't give an accurate temperature. Tonight, I checked the temperature of a pork tenderloin that had been in the oven for more than the recommended amount of time (45 minutes for a 2 lb. tenderloin) and the temperature went from 140 to 103 to 123 to 149 to 119. In a matter of 10 seconds. Then the fun started, it started blinking L L L - I have no idea what it means, but it's been doing that for the past year or so.

I'm just not impressed. I'm actually on Amazon looking for a better thermometer that will last us more than 18 months.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Dual probe wireless thermometer
Just used breifly, but the only issue I had was that there was a 1 degree difference between the two temp probes.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very Favorable
Works flawlessly. I especially like the fact that it has room for two probes, this way if I have two diffent thicknesses of meat I can make sure they are removed at the correct times. I have also used the second probe to display the oven temp by just laying it in the grill. I like how the temp is also displayed on the transmitter so if I am by the grill and not by the receiver I can see the temp. I am careful though to not expose the probe wires to direct flames as to not ruin them. I would not hesitate to buy on again.
